I last posted in early May. I have just returned from the Mayo Clinic where I had my PFT's repeated. I have the tests done annually. My results are not significantly changed from 2008. Although I have severe emphysems, if I don't get worse, I consider the results an improvement. I do think the stem cell treatments, Spireva, exercise, Stem Triton and prayer all account for the lack of decline. I am always relieved to find I am the same. I plan another stem cell treatment suggested by Barbara...

I don't know what to say about the effects of my last treatment in February. Somedays I think I am better, other days the same and of course other days I feel worse. My oxygen saturations are high with 2.5 liters of oxygen and drop into the low 90's with walking. Without oxygen they drop into the low 80's and sometimes the 70's....when walking. They stay arounf 90 without oxygen when I am standing still. My local Dr. always does a metabolic panel when I see her because I am a type 2 diabetic....

I take back my last report. I've turned up my oxygen to 2.23 liters because my heart rate was too high on just 2 liters. I think I am essentially the same as before treatment but it took 3 months the last time before I could really tell a difference. My saturations are about 97=98 with oxygen, but drop when I walk without O2...not quite as far, but not significally differnet. I've gained a little weight so that isn't helping, I'm sure. More at a later date.

It has now been about six weeks since my treatment in San Salvador. I am feeling lots more energy and have lowered my O2 from 2/12 liters to 2. My saturations sitting are 98% and stay at around 95 when exercising mildly and walking with oxygen. I hope the results will continue to hold. I will have pulmonary function tests again in July. Thanks to the power of pray, Barbara and Jeaninne, and all of you for great advice. Pat

This is my 31 post treatment progress report. I am almost fully recovered from my worst bout of bronchitis. I hadn't even had a cold for 16 months, but bronchitis and allergic reactions are going around our area and many are sick. It took two Z packs and one medrol pack to get over the bronchitis. I didn't end up in the hospital so maybe the stem cell treatment helped. I did have a low grade fever for two days. I don't know what effect the bronchitis will have on my treatment results. Today...
