Update May 22, 2010

Posted 05-22-2010 at 11:17 AM by gator871

Just wanted to update my blog because so many are asking me how I am doing and I like that! I am doing better each day, week and month. I no longer use my cane. I feel I walk much better without it. I was leaning too much on it and walked awkwardly. Now I have a better cadence walking on my own. I think if I was on a very uneven ground I would use it for balance. I did the Walk MS with my foot brace on and walked the whole mile with the cane and would have done better without it! I was going to try the 3.5 mile loop that day but the brick roads and sidewalks were so uneven I could not keep balance even with a cane.I use my scooter much less now also. In fact it is in my garage and not in my car and has not been in my car for a while. I will still use it for a long walk in a mall or other places. I just came back from a flight to NY and did not use the cane or scooter. I did get a wheel chair in the airport because I felt I would fatigue my right leg with all the walking to the point that I would not be usefull the rest of the day. With hindsight I could have walked the airport and recovered pretty fast. I did walk quite a bit in NY and used nothing except my stem cells and continued great nutrition! No fatigue at all from all the walking. And I do recover faster now from my right leg getting weak when I walk longer distances. MS still slows me down, but I can keep up with people for much longer than before. I was up until 2-3 am and no fatigue problems. Is it the stem cells. the nutrition, or God? Perhaps all three! I feel very strongly that my MS is not progressing. I have not had a MRI to confirm that because of the cost, but I do see improvement and NO setbacks at all. For a person with primary progressive MS, you can not ask for anything more!

In my opinion, you cannot discount any of the 3 things you mentioned. I am so happy to hear that you are doing better.
