Thank you to Dr. Lopez from Regenerative Medicine Institute (RMI) for this.

Have you experienced any changes in your condition, Barbara, since having the adipose-based treatment?

I am hoping to. I have to tell you that I am not a big fan of lipo. I think a plastic surgeon who does this type of procedure extensively would be my first choice if I ever chose to have it done again. Now, that adipose derived therapies are becoming more widely available, maybe we can learn more about them and how others have fared after having treatment. There is little info out there right now that I can find anyway. I found my recovery time to be a lot longer than with a marrow extraction. I just don't have anything earth shattering to report at this time about my adipose treatment. Dr. Lopez has a few patients that had adipose treatment that are in a clinical trial he is conducting. I hope they will give us some information on how they are doing because quite honestly, I don't know of any other COPD patients, except for Jeannine and me, that have had the adipose derived treatment. There has to be some out there I would think. Between the clinical and the study we are in, there should be some data available that can be shared after the 6 month study period. We just keep track of our daily saturation levels at this point and they are monitored by the doctor who is helping with the study. Dr. Lopez has had his patients go through full PFT testing before and mid way and I believe will require it again at the end. It's a start to finding out how well this method is going to help COPD patients. Better than floundering around in the dark and having to rely on testimonials anyway.
My dream treatment would be one that is non invasive (simple outpatient procedure requiring no sedation) that is clinically relevant. I like to dream.
