Tesamorelin

Spoke to Dr. Deeks yesterday and he seems to think that one of the single biggest reasons to take Tesamorelin was improved lung function. This drug is pending FDA approval. He did also indicate that the drug was not totally without its problem. His comments seem to indicate that it is potentially an important tool in improving lung function.

What problems did he mention? Are you taking it or do you know anyone that is?

I am not taking Tesamorlin. It is not legally available as of yet. However, the FDA is reviewing it. The drug was previously expected to be legally available in March 2010. However, it is now scheduled for Phase III expanded access. More likely than not, it won't be legally available for at least one more year.

I don't know what problems are associated with the drug, but the drug maker Theratec has published a lot of information on the internet with respect to their experience. They claim that it doesn't have the glucose toxicities typically associated with other forms of human growth hormone.
