This is pretty shocking. Can anyone imagine stem cell clinical trials costing $5000.00 per patient per day over a several year span?

Excerpt from Biosearch Online Newsletter

Developing a new drug requires vast funding: the typical drug development cycle, from Petri dish to pharmacy shelf, can consume approximately 12-15 years and cost up to $1B. Clinical trials represent the most expensive phase of compound development, sometimes accounting for 75% of total development expenses. In fact, late-stage clinical trials can cost upwards of $5,000 per patient per day over a several year span.

It is estimated that only 1 in 10,000 compounds tested are ever approved by the FDA and reach the consumer market. When a project is halted late in the development cycle, companies stand to lose hundreds of millions of dollars ? a sum the company is forced to recoup in the pricing structure of the future medications it brings to market.

What you have written is true. All new drugs are protected by patent and it is world wide. No other drug company can touch them. It takes years to recover the outlay not to mention the advertising costs and the samples that are passed to drs. and hospitals. Any pharmacies that provides them for their customers have to pay all the people from the developing company down to you. Everyone tacks on a profit for themselves. If the drug was developed outside the U.S. then the FDA holds their throat and strangles them for as long as they want. Then they allow them in after they "tested" them for a proper period of time. I ordered Spireva three years before it was allowed in our markets here. Another interesting fact is that drugs allowed out of our country costs a fraction of what it costs here. I can buy 6 Combivent units from my source for what I would have to pay for one here and I get a discount here. The thing that aggrivates me is that when the pharmaceutical companies recoup their development costs the price of the med doesn't go down. The profit is enormous. I am thankful that we have them to take to keep us healthy. I predate antibiotics of any kind and sulfa drugs were the best we had. Losts of folks didn't make it thru many diseases so I guess I shouldn't fuss.

Thanks Barb-
This is the way that these goon prey upon people. The drug manufacturer that spends so much developing a drug is shot in the back be people just like Mr. Xu and his wife. In my estimation they do not deserve prison where we have to support them after they tried to kill us.They should be set up at 1 mile plus staions for our sharpshooters/snipers to practice on. I am not of a kind nature for them at all. Once they get out they will just start all over again. They have no remose for what they have done or will do.I agree that everyone on the forum should read this. Is there any way that technocracy can get this out to everyone? Way to go Texas lawmen!!!!!!
