New tools for an old problem

While digging around on the UCSF Airways research site http://airway.ucsf.edu/contact.html, I came across an important site that talks about asthma and its complications http://americanasthmafoundation.org/research-program/research-breakthroughs.

There are a multitude of things on here that I didn't know about that were interesting. Also, I didn't realize there was an American Asthma Association that was entirely separate from the American Lung Association.

Well, maybe if they are separate organizations you might see if they are moving ahead looking for cures for asthma. The American Lung Association isn't. They are busy trying to get candy cigarettes banned.

Until this morning, I didn't even realize that the American Asthma Association even existed. I found their contact information on the UCSF Airways site. A review of the American Asthma Association's site appears to indicate they are doing things and have a different perspective on long term treatment, COPD, than the American Lung Association's site.
