I cannot really comment on whether Al Gore, General Electric, Pfizer, etc. are really adding to the actuality of someday having stem cell treatment available that might actually help people walk again, but nevertheless, it is a start. It is money, BIG MONEY, that is driving the effort. The patients are just incidental. If something worthwhile can be gained from Geron's trial, that would be magnificent. However, if it is just another very costly research project that goes on and on and on at the expense of taxpayer's, with no real results, then we have gained nothing from it. Only those getting the research dollars will come out winners. Only time will tell.
