I received this wonderful update from Nassin today. Nassin, if you are not aware, is the reason that many of the Pioneer founding members were able to learn about stem cell therapy. The first treatment he had (Dec. 2006)was very successful and he was able to get off of O2, except at night. He then had a second treatment (Aug. 2007) to see if even more improvements would be seen and it did nothing for him. He started to get sob again earlier this year and he felt he was declining so he had a third treatment and voila - he is once again flitting around the world as the treatment has helped him a lot this time just like his first treatment. I find this very interesting that one of the three treatments had no effect and yet the other two have given him so many positive results. He has had autologous treatment all three times from Dr. Fernandez-Vina. Thanks Nassin for the update and enjoy your vacation. He is even doing the driving in Israel!
We have seen that stem cells have helped some and have not
helped others. But to COPD patients like us, with nothing to do but
continue to worsen as
we go on living, stem cells are one hopeful way of improving our
quality of life when they
do help. On Aug. 2006 I was looking forward to a miserable ending.
Now I am enthusiastically
looking forward to mid-September when I again go to Israel and England
for a three week
vacation. Many other groups are now offering treatments and although
not all will
benefit by them, I trust nobody will be hurt by them. Good luck to
you all....nassin

Where is Dr. Fernandez-Viva? What was your cost?

I didn't get treated by him, but was quoted $18,000 awhile back. He is in Argentina. He has a partner in Miami who deals with the money part. Dr. Vina does not discuss money. My issues were communication...they do not communicate well although they both speak English fine. Hard to get an email reply when you need it. Also, it seems that everyone gets quoted a different price.

I agree with Harv. This is a wonderful doctor, but unless you speak and write good Spanish, it may be difficult to communicate. Nassin has put together several trips where Dr. Fernandez came to El Salvador (Nassin's home country) and gave treatment there. Costs vary according to the size of the group in this case. Nassin is not in the medical tourism business, so it is just when his friends and relatives need treatment that he does this and some forum members have joined in to be able to be treated by Dr. Fernandez. Nassin is a wonderful, kind man.

If you want to view the posts that are made each day, click on New Posts if you are signed in. If you are not signed in, it will say Today's Posts. This is in the darker blue line where several functions are listed. When you do pull up a section such as Pulmonary Disease, the latest posts will be first unless they are "sticky" which means they are of importance so they are always stuck at the top of the section regardless of when they were made. Once you are viewing a thread, scroll down to the last post. It will be the latest. If the thread has several pages and you want the latest post in that thread, then click on the last page number.
